This is definitely a bit more of an advanced project, I wouldn’t recommend it to beginner sewers. Mostly because there are a lot of layers of fabric to keep track of, and sewing along the 3D shape can get a bit tricky. What you’ll need: - Water resistant fabric - Fleece fabric - Quilt batting - Plastic binder - Two-way zipper (70 cm) - 25 mm elastic - 25 mm polyester binding - Velcro - Extra strong sewing machine needles (mine were denim needles) - Matching thread - Sewing clips - Sewing pins - Temporary spray adhesive or another kind of fabric adhesive - Sewing machine - Scissors - Pinking shears - Measuring tape If you make one of your own, I'd love to see it! They are just too beautiful to sit on a shelf at the second hand store, so go make your own! What you'll need: - Stack of old books - Clock mechanism (with a long pin if you're using paperbacks) - Drill - Sharp craft knife - Metal ruler - Cutting mat - Craft glue - Colored markers in case you do any damage to the book covers - Rubber bands/clamps/more books If you make one of your own, I'd love to see it! In this video, I walk you through the process, including transferring your pattern to the wood. So as long as you can color within the lines, you don’t need any artistic skill for this.
