This one has been on my wishlist for a long time. After staring at a lot of string art pictures on pinterest, I finally ran into some nice wood that I could try this with.
I went for a French clef as the picture, because I think it's a really interesting shape. But the great thing about string art is that you can use pretty much any shape you want, even letters or words. You can also play with the colours, using a nice bright colour or even multiple colours in one shape. I went for black, because I think it gives a nice contrast to the wood. Also, French clefs are pretty much always black, so it just made sense to me.
What you'll need: - A piece of wood - A saw and sandpaper to cut the wood to size - Lots of small nails - A hammer - Small pliers - Hooks/other hardware to hang your piece - String (I used cotton yarn that is used for crochet) - Scissors - Big (yarn) needle
